Hi, I have recently brought a little 12hh Exmoor, we think she is around 5 and are having a few problems with her, wonder if anyone can give some advice here. She does seem to have been backed as she will let you saddle her up and get on her, but she is very very flighty, doesn't really know what to do, I am new to this so all help is appreciated

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm no expert, but I think the best thing would be to go right back to basics with her. Lots of groundwork will help you get to know her better, and build a relationship so that she trusts you. There are some really good books out there to help, Richard Maxwell is a particular favourite of mine, but also you can't beat having someone else to help. Do you know a sympathetic instructor who could give you some tips? Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

Hi, im new too. Sounds like she has been backed with tack and thats it, you just need to continue with her education, I second Richard maxwells book its really good.

Hi,some ponies need longer than others,so it feels like 2 steps forwards and 4 back. She will get there in the end but will need time to get used to you and her new home.I am sure she will be well worth your patience.

She doesn't look like an Exmoor to me, do you have any papers for her?
