Just thought I would say hello and introduce myself. I live in the Scottish Borders near Biggar and have 1 Exmoor Mare: Fern and 1 Highland Gelding: Bobby. If memory serves me right I think I originally found Fern indirectly though this Board a few years ago, when I initially joined to find an Exmoor. I love native ponies and had always wanted an Exmoor since I was a child, I originally come from the north coast of Scotland (where there weren't any Exmoors at the time) and it took me about 40 years to fulfil my ambition to own one! I just keep my ponies at home, and although I have a lot of family commitments which often prevent me from doing as much as I would like with Bobby and Fern, they are hugely important to me. Anyway, I really look forward to reading about all your lovely ponies and looking at your photographs. Kind wishes to all!

Hello and welcome!! Can't wait to hear about your Exie (and highland!) adventures! I love Biggar, I am originally from North Lanarkshire but living down in Somerset these days...if I ever convince my OH to move to Scotland in the future, I would definitely be looking around the Biggar area

Fern is a Gait Barrows pony, she has sweetitch, so life as a conservation grazer wasn't suitable for her. Will have a look into posting some photos shortly, but in the meantime, thank you for the warm welcome.....

One of my favourite unreg exmoors (Freddy/firecrest I think is his unreg name) is from gait barrows. He loves to lick you and is nice and responsive ride with beautiful wavy mane.
