Thank you for the the welcome. we come from Margate in Kent so lucky bracken gets to go to the beach and also enjoys hacking around the farmland. She is very shy and timid but very loving too. When we first had her she was very hard to catch from the field it has only taken us 3 years (lol) and a change of stable yards for her to walk up to us in the field when we want to bring her in. We hardly ever see Exmoors around this area so when we go to local shows bracken gets a lot of attention. She is our little star!

Hello, there! I'm also from East Kent though now live in Wales and I also have a Frithesden pony - Merlin. Which stallion is Bracken by? Merlin's Dad is Lysander.

Hi, welcome and I'm very impressed you've got an avatar thingy, I've been trying for ages and mine never appear - no idea what I'm doing wrong. What a joy to be able to ride on a beach - I'm going a funny tinge of green as I sit here playing on my pc as it's pc'ing down outside!!

Welcome! You're very lucky to have the beach so close. A beach ride is on my must-do list. I own Frithesden Flint, 9/139, 14yrs gelding (F.Lysander x F. Freya). Catching seems to be an issue with quite a few frithesden ponies. Flint will turn his bottom to you when he wants to be caught - as long a you touch his bottom first then you can go to his head and put the headcollar on. A couple of my friends have walked round and round in circles for ages trying to get close to his head first, and then given up thinking he's refusing to be caught - he just likes to do it his own way! He's a lovely boy, really kind and affectionate and a fab allrounder.
